Corrimal Beach is located a 5 minute drive north of Wollongong’s central business district and a 50 minute drive from the southern suburbs of Sydney. It is patrolled patrolled from the start of the September school holidays till the end of the April school holidays with Council lifeguards patrolling from Monday to Saturday, and volunteer lifesavers from Surf Lifesaving Australia patrolling on Sundays and public holidays.
ISA offers holiday makers a safe, relaxed and private beach to learn to surf as it is perfectly located a short walk from Corrimal Tourist Caravan Park. Corrimal Beach is a popular destination for locals and holiday makers alike.
The long beach offers many options for surfers of all ages and abilities, and is ideal in all conditions. The northern corner offers protection from the northerly winds, while the southern corner provides shelter from the southerly winds. There is also a small lagoon which provides quiet waters for younger children to learn how to paddle a surfboard.
As Corrimal Beach is such a long beach it offers something for anyone and everyone who is keen to learn how to surf or better their surf skills. The beach offers long sandbanks with rolling waves which makes it an ideal location for both novice and seasoned surfers.
There is a wide range of facilities at Corrimal Beach including an amazing children’s playground, picnic shelters, beach showers and several great cafes close by.

How to Find Us
Located 5 mins drive along ‘Memorial Drive’ from Wollongong’s CBD you’ll find our Corrimal Beach Locations. When heading Northbound or Southbound on ‘Memorial Drive’, take the ‘Towradgi Rd’ exit heading east.
Our Southern meeting point is located 1km drive and on the left, in the carpark at the end of ‘Towradgi Rd’.
Our Northern meeting point is the carpark at the end of ‘Murray Rd’. When driving down ‘Towradgi Rd’, take a left onto ‘Pioneer Rd’, drive for 1km and turn right at the roundabout onto ‘Murray Rd’. Continue along ‘Murray Rd’ for 500m, you’ll drive past the shops on your right, you will find the carpark at the end of this road. Look out for the Illawarra Surf Academy ‘Stoke Trailer’, 10 minutes prior to the start of your lesson.
